Jukebox Update

Jellyfin didn't work out. It had an issue where after several hours it would simply stop playing music. My goal was to have something that shuffled music forever.

I ended up moving to Rhythmbox. This seemed to be working well, shuffling music for several days on the first attempt, however, it eventually stopped. However, it wasn't just Rhythmbox that stopped, Linux Mint as a whole froze up (twice now). I thought shuffling a folder full of local music would be easy, but it seems to be rife with issues.

I'm willing to accept this could be a hardware issue, but I'm having trouble justifying putting any real money behind what is essentially a headless server to shuffle music. This idea becomes even more problematic when changing out hardware is simply a troubleshooting step.

Once you simplify the tooling & get deeper into the characteristics & capabilities of each tool, you begin to get more precision in your results. by focusing on a tool you find what it will do & how it does it but more important, how your action augments, modulates, or negates its performance. If you use it enough & your observation-sensitivity is operational, you will end by being able to do things with the tool which will surprise & amaze you.

You don't have to be a zen master to recognize that this will result in some pretty peachy changes in your relationship with self & thus with the rest of the universe.

Hello, world! This is my blog.

You may ask yourself, "why is this site so ugly?" The answer is simple. First, it's not ugly, it is beautifully functional. I know it will work on any browser made in the last 25 years with 0 testing. When new browser updates are released, this site won't break. Zero maintenance is a feature. Anything more would be me spending time to create and fix problems. If your browser is really wide and it makes the text hard to read, just make the window more narrow. I never understood the point of making a web browser full screen on a widescreen monitor… it's a poor use of space. Most sites fill that extra space with ads; this should not be encouraged.
